About Us. Hear It From Our Client!

It’s a long journey from design conception, through the build, to handover and then throughout the warranty process. That’s why you’ll often hear us saying how important it is to form solid relationships during a home design and build. As a client, your designer and builder are partners you want to jive and work well with, people you should genuinely like and trust. At Urbis, we’re a small, intimate team with customer experience topping our list of priorities. We can’t stress enough our aim to please & build relationships with our clients, and receiving testimonials like this makes us appreciate all the special collaborations we have been a part of.

Nicole Sehn is the Vice President of Alberta Asphalt, partner to Blake Fels (a journeyman welder and stay at home dad), and mom to 2 young children. As an extremely busy family they have very little time to spare, which is why it was so important to us to provide them the easiest process possible! We asked Nicole to share a little about her experience with Urbis. Check out what she had to say below, along with some photos of their finished home.

Why did you choose Urbis Infill Homes? What was your initial impression? Did we meet your expectations?
In negotiating our contract, every question was answered. I felt like I received honest answers. In initial meetings when I had direct questions, I didn’t get flakey answers. I felt good about what I was being told, and in the end they delivered as promised.

My initial impression was that Urbis would lead me down an honest and transparent path. It was reassuring that I would be dealing with real people, a small team that was readily available. The team seemed like a group that I could work with, and had personalities that matched mine. Throughout the build, the process was exactly what I expected. My expectations and the outcome were parallel. This was really important to me.

Tell us a bit about the experience working with the design team?
The design process was very organized. Prior to meetings, the expectations of what we were addressing was exactly as expected. Meetings were very efficient, and the overall interior design and selections went smoothly. We were able to knock a ton of stuff off in meetings. I was provided with realistic direction that in the end met my expectations of quality, in both design and execution.

In terms of the budget and spending, I felt as if the team at Urbis was treating our spending as if it was their own money being spent. This led to building trust throughout the process. I trusted in the design selections and seeing this executed built confidence. The team was very conscious of budget. I felt very supported in hitting budget targets and was provided with options to do so. We felt very good about that.

How would you describe the construction process?
The construction walk-throughs were just as promised. With advance notice, the team would accommodate our needs. In addition, we were also welcome to have access when needed. We never felt restricted. The construction team at Urbis was flexible and attentive to great customer service.

Would you build or purchase with Urbis Infill Homes again?
I would 100% build with Urbis again. Not only that, I would recommend them to anyone. They took a stressful situation and guided us through it with ease. The expectations of building a home assume a great amount of stress and the team was great at mitigating this. Given our very busy schedule, this was very important. We couldn’t have had a better experience building a home.

Collaboration, communication and transparency are of the utmost importance here at Urbis, and because of this, we’ve been able to foster so many great relationships with our clients and can’t wait to create more in the future!
