Shop Local this Christmas!

The Christmas countdown is officially on! To help you finish off your holiday shopping, our design team has featured 3 local stores that they each love, along with some of their top picks which would make perfect gifts for those special people in your life!

Check things off your to-do list and support local- win, win!

Swing into this adorable storefront located in the Oliver Exchange building, or shop online. From housewares to holiday décor, to jewelry and kids apparel, this store has quite the selection, perfect to knock items off your Christmas shopping list! Here are a few items we loved while browsing in-store:

Throws: Cozy up with these beautiful blankets from Mac Ausland Woolen Mills, made in Prince Edward Island, Canada!
Wreath: This beautiful metal pine wreath with pinecones, in an antique brass finish is the perfect way to add some festivity to your decor!
Candle Holder: We love this aluminium terra-cotta taper holder. There’s nothing like a beautiful candle to make the holidays feel even more magical!

This locally owned design shop in Sherwood Park always has their shelves stocked with a wide variety of home accents, candles, children’s items and Canadian made sweet & savoury treats. My favourite? IM Fleur bouquets and centre pieces. They offer a monthly flower subscription or select from their in-store, trendy and perfectly curated fresh flower arrangements and greenery.

EX/OH Luxury Candles: Hand-poured by a local mother/daughter team. With subtle colours and natural scents, these unique designs add warmth and drama to your space. My holiday favourite is Spiced Cedar Brandy.
Decorative Canisters: Add visual texture and dimension to your space. I would style them on my mantel or dining room sideboard with a few sprigs of holly and cedar.
Wreath & Hanger: I love the whimsy of using this cast iron goose as a wreath hanger. They’ve displayed it here with a pampas grass wreath which is perfect all year round.

This flower and gift shop is located in the heart of downtown. They offer fresh cut flowers, unique gift items, cards and home décor and their distinctive storefront and forward window displays hint at the wonders inside. Here are some of Lindsay’s top picks:

Fine Porcelain by Klein Reid: I was immediately drawn to these vessels from the Nimbus Collection, described by the artists as “hand applique, sculptural shapes [that] make a grand statement”- I couldn’t agree more!
The Floral Society Taper Candles: Candles make the perfect hostess gift, or are great for yourself for your seasonal tablescape. These dipped candles come in 10 colours, and have a burn time of 1 hour/inch.
Flowers: In my opinion, Artworks has the most unique selection of flowers in the city. They typically have arrangements ready to grab while shopping, or you can call ahead and order arrangements.
